The Lady Mary Inn at Hurd Manor

This is a gorgeous Victorian mansion in the middle of The Berwicks in Maine. The owner and staff are welcoming, warm, and helpful. Every detail is special. It is not only a desired destination, but it is centrally located near a beautiful part of Maine, offering many opportunities to explore and enjoy. We even got a warm greeting by the two boxers that occasionally visit as proud ambassadors of the inn!

We chose The Lady Mary Inn for our venue for our private wedding ceremony and could not be happier. We wanted it to be just the two of us and owners Ryan and Steve made it happen. We had our ceremony in front of a beautiful marble fireplace in the parlor and then were absolutely blown away by the five-course meal with wine pairings that Ryan prepared for us. The Inn would be a perfect place for any small, intimate gathering (wedding, engagement party, shower, private dinner party, etc.). The beautiful surroundings, the genuine hospitality, and the attention to detail are second to none. We are so grateful to have had exactly the wedding we wanted and such a meaningful, memorable experience.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to find this inn after a bad experience with another local B&B. This grandiose inn sits on a busy street, but once inside it’s a totally different story. The inn was once owned by a wealthy woman named Mary Hurd. Although the inn had deteriorated over the years, the new owners, Ryan and Steve, have refurbished the inn almost back to it’s glory days. Ryan and Steve are wonderful hosts and the suites are large and comfortable. The breakfasts on the veranda were so relaxing. If you are in the area and want a great experience, this is the place to stay.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our company retreat at The Lady Mary Inn in North Berwick, Maine, and can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay! Our group took over the inn for six days, and from start to finish, it was a truly exceptional experience. Our hosts, Ryan and Steve, along with their sweet pups Vivi and Clark, made us feel completely at home. Every morning started with a beautiful, freshly prepared breakfast, and lunches from their locally owned NoBo Sandwich Shop (just a short walk from the inn) were incredible — especially the soups, salads, and sandwiches that fueled our creative sessions. I traveled over two hours for afternoon tea here and I would do it over and over again! The ambiance is incredible, the host is passionate about what he does and knows so much about the history of the building and was so fun to chat with! Every single item of food was perfect both in look and taste. Each room is picturesque and beautiful. I can’t wait to come back!
