The Lab Coffee - West Tampa

I was in the neighborhood looking for a coffee spot and chanced upon this place. It has that funky yet fun grunge factor with a welcoming vibe. I opted for a cortado (excellent) then added a steak burrito. I noticed that they were also selling their “well rested” roasted beans at 50% off, they were roasted about 2+ weeks ago and I am fine with that. By the number of patrons streaming in, I can just surmise this is the place for a good coffee.

Stopped by before our flight. There was a line but moved fairly quick. Small menu but highly executed. My partner and I both ordered the Breakfast Pressed Cuban w/ Sausage. It was excellent! If you’re a cheese pull enthusiast, it will not disappoint! My lady ordered the iced matcha latte with lavender. Very good! A sweet spot to come for breakfast/brunch.

Unfortunately, the best cappuccino in Tampa. I say unfortunately because I have to drive far to get here and parking is limited 😅 Smooth, rich, silky. The only way to describe it. The notes they say the coffee beans have are the notes I can taste. Not milky. Costs less than $5. Literally could not ask for anything more. Baristas are also incredibly friendly!

Seriously the best coffee in Tampa and absolutely worth driving over the bridge for. The baristas are hands down the best, always going above and beyond. Their house made syrups are incredible, the beans are top-notch and there’s always a solid selection, so you really can’t go wrong. The food is just as good (anything from the empanada case is a must). The dog friendly vibe creates such a great atmosphere and makes the place even more welcoming. Also if there’s a line, don’t worry. It moves fast and is totally worth it, every time.

I like the lab, I really do... I hate the seating and parking here. I often times will spend 4+ hours in a coffee shop and that's not convenient here. The seating leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is fantastic, it really is good. The staff is friendly, and there is good natural light. I just hate the seating here. S.O Cappuccino, pour over.
