Our first time and we will come back. The food overall tasted fresh. The veggie quiche was delicious and the crust was crunchy. The shrimp crab dish was surprisingly delicious, and the chicken sandwich had a sweet taste. We also had the chicken noodle soup. We enjoyed our lunch. The mocktail was tasty, and the twig of fresh rosemary added to the experience. Everytime you take a sip, you also take in some of the rosemary scent. Great choice for lunch, we'll be back again.
Perfect lunch in between some shopping. I would eat this quiche every day if I could! They also have an awesome mocktail menu (the peach one was amazing!) Our waitress was so sweet and friendly. I love that they serve local products from the shops in the village. They served a very tasty combo of pepper jam and cream cheese as a starter. Try to sit by a window and you can watch the carriages as you eat!
We stopped in here on our way to Virginia. The service was lovely and so was the ambiance, but they need to revisit the shrimp and crab mousseline. I ordered a nice salad with apple and a lemon vinaigrette, very good, and ordered the shrimp/ crab "cake" over it. The waitress described it as "ground shrimp", but it was more like a very eggy omelet with a bit of shrimp and crab in it. I didn't enjoy it at all, it was misshapen and also greasy, and I wished I had sent it back because in all the salad ended up being $30 with that addition on it and it was very definitely not worth that cost, especially since i had a severe bout of indigestion later. Seafood, egg and oils just don't go well together. The recipe sounds like a nice idea, but in execution was very poorly done.
The waitress was a gem and the ambiance was very cozy. The shrimp/crab cake was very disappointing. It was very wet and more like an egg cake that was not cooked. The ricotta honey had no honey and my partners chicken thighs were 3 very small chicken legs that were very dry. It’s unfortunate because it’s a super cute spot. Definitely wouldn’t return.
Not what it used to be! They previously had a great homemade open faced chicken salad sandwich with cranberry relish. Now it's definitely not homemade. The bread is tasteless and hardly any chickem salad. They also used to have the best coconut cream pie around. Not anymore. And the slice was $10! My two friends had the crab sandwich and also thought they were tasteless and small. The bill for three of us was $92 for lunch. I was embarrassed as I suggested the Kling House and it was terrible.
