The Junction Ale House

We only had breakfast here, but thought it was a good deal. Anywhere else this would be a 3 star breakfast. At the resort I bumped it up to 4. The breakfast is reasonably priced and fairly good. If you were staying on or near the mountain and had a kitchen you could probably make an equivalent breakfast for less but you’d need to have brought your supplies with you and after the prep and cleanup I think most people would be worse off. I was happy to get a decent breakfast and get out on the slopes. The staff here were always exceptionally nice.

We are a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids – 7 and 9). We arrived at 5:50 PM and were told there was a 30-minute wait, which was fine. We asked to leave a phone number and come back when our table was ready (like every normal restaurant does), but were told we must stand and wait inside. After about 5 minutes we were suddenly told to leave and come back in 40 minutes because it was “getting busy”. Already very odd. We came back at 6:35 PM, were seated, and placed our order at 6:47 PM. Then the disaster really started: – Drinks took 20–30 minutes to arrive (soft drinks and a canned cider – nothing complicated). – Food took 57 minutes after ordering to show up. Nearly an hour with two hungry kids. – The staff kept running around apologizing to multiple tables saying “just a little longer”, s

I asked the server for a light to medium beer, but the beer I was served was very bitter and not what I expected. After tasting it, I politely asked if it could be changed. Unfortunately, the server said it could not be changed because the bartender said no. There was no service-minded explanation or effort to help, such as suggesting another option or offering a solution. I understand policies, but better communication and customer care would have made the experience much better. The atmosphere is nice, but the service experience was disappointing.

Unfortunately for all involved, the restaurant was unexpectedly busy with not enough staff for dinner tonight. We waited a long time to have our order taken, though our waiter did apologize for the delay. Our meals were hot and delicious however no one checked back with us if we needed anything else (and we had, but made do). I had to ask for the check, they did not notice we were done and waiting. The atmosphere is great, the food was delicious, however at least tonight service was below par. Apologies were given, but it affected our anniversary dinner and we did mind.

If you’re not coming here for breakfast, you’re crazy. Starbucks has a line and there’s literally no one in here with us, I had the French toast and they blew my boots off, coffee is fresh and hot, paired well with Jameson. Ready to hit the slopes!!! Our server Karen was super attentive, I was very satisfied with my breakfast. Says they’re not open til 11 but we strolled in at about 8:30 am.
