The Jay Cafe Texas City

Initially, the restaurant is difficult to find. It is in the middle of the Outlet Mall. There are 3-4 other food places located with it. The area to eat is nothing special. Food was great! The chicken fried steak was really good- not too much breading and had an awesome flavor. Gravy is package gravy, but still good. The Tex CFS size was huge, hanging over the plate. The fried mushrooms were delicious. Buttermilk ranch dressing was a little thin though. We will go back!

The Jay Cafe is located in the food court at the outlet mall. The burger bun was good and so were the fries. However, the patty looked like it was missing a large chunk out of it compared to other burgers I’ve seen from reviews of this restaurant. The kids chicken tenders is a great sized portion, but the gravy is watery and definitely from a package. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked fresh.

This may be a food court, but the food is fantastic! We tried the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and side salad. The portions are generous and the food very fresh and delicious. The service is very friendly and attentive! Definitely going back!

Ate here a few weeks ago during a shopping trip with my 2 year old at Tanger. Stopped to get her chicken tenders and fries. They came out piping hot and the fries were actually so good and perfectly crispy. The employee that helped us was very friendly and I appreciated his professionalism. It was in the food court, but he made it feel like we were at a restaurant. Great service! Awesome fries!

I got the chicken fried chicken with white gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect! The food was excellent! I love the fact that I was able to get a home style meal on the go. Naem served us and he was very attentive!
