The Jam Shack

The Jam Shack lol I been calling it the bread place Oop's. Their maple syrup (no words) I swear I can taste a little smoke in it. Anyway, you in garden it is a must stop. The port bar n grill is amasing also.

Listen… I’ve hated jam for 49 years, 11 months, and 29 days. Couldn’t stand the stuff. Grapes? Strawberries? Blueberries? If it rhymed with “am,” I was out. But with the big 5-0 coming up, I figured it was time to face my lifelong fruity enemy. So I walk into the Jam Shack, prepared to hate everything, ready to fake a cough and blame “acid reflux” if necessary. Instead—BAM! Taste buds lit up like Fourth of July sparklers. I was betrayed… by my own mouth. Jam? Delicious. Me? Now a convert. The Jam Shack crew: absolute wizards. Their spreads could make even the crankiest old man (hi, that’s me) do a happy dance in the parking lot. Bangin’ job. 10/10. Moral of the story: don’t wait 50 years to try jam.

We vacationed in the area for 2 weeks and visited this business twice. We purchased 2 loaves of bread, several cookies, pickles, cinnamon rolls, and some cherry jam. The cookies must have been laying out for several days because they were bland and a little stale. The cinnamon rolls were mediocre but they had tons of icing which helped. One loaf of bread was great but the second one was horrible. We couldn’t even slice it because it would just crumble to pieces so we just threw it away. The jam was so bad my wife spit it out after tasting it so we threw that away too. We really wanted to support this small business but the products are hit and miss so we won’t return.

Such a charming spot, everything tasted great and the caraway rye bread was absolutely delicious. Lots of community trust here. Thanks!

This is an amazing little spot that we always get bread, amazing salsa, garlic, Christmas wreaths, maple syrup and other locally made & grown goods! Totally worth the stop and the owners are top notch. They may even have some of their gorgeous chain saw carvings out if you’re lucky!
