The Jalapeno Tree

Just sharing our lunch experience at Jalapeño Tree in Mineola yesterday. Our initial encounter with the female server was one of aggression. As she approached our table she glared at me as if I had already offended her. I ordered a lunch quesadilla that included beans and rice, which I did not want but no substitutions were offered. I asked her to add sour cream but she rudely said that she would have to charge extra. I asked if she was going to give credit for the beans and rice and she said “no, we are not allowed to.” I knew that but it was trying to make a point. My goodness! my son, my husband and myself went to eat about 8 pm only because the other good places close at 8. We like the pick 4 menu it’s always so much food and a good size of tortilla soup, and everything was good except the tortillas were not fresh but we could deal…takes forever for a chip person to come over then the lady brings drinks, we ask for tortillas and she brought us crunchy flower tortillas the butter was empty so I was smacking it out because I can’t see an employee anywhere no plates to eat our tortillas on had to go ask for napkins and plates,never got a refill on the ONE basket of chips for 3 people.my son asked for a taco bowl with queso in it and he got shredded chz and the woman said it was queso (wasn’t because I literally has a bowl of queso next to me)we ask f

I can't believe these guys only have 4.0 reviews. We took a chance and so glad we did! Everything was superb... The portion sizes are BIG, and so delicious. I had fajita quesadillas and they were STUFFED with meat, cheese, grilled onions and peppers OMG it was so good! My husband's cheese enchiladas with chili con carne on top were actually the best tasting enchiladas we've had in forever. The chips and salsa were amazing, the service was amazing (shout-out to Ethan our waiter in Mineola). We will definitely be returning often!

I live in Lewisville and I will tell you this, the food at this restaurant was amazing. Nothing in Lewisville compared to this food, enchiladas, burritos, queso you have to try the papa bear queso with meat. Homemade tortillas are to die for. Outstanding food and service. Chips and salsa were also amazing. You must try this place. We got the choose 4 items so we could try several things and this includes beans and rice. Only 14.49 for beans rice and 4 items. Very well priced. Thank you

We were here with a large group on a Monday night. Service was very good, especially in light of coming without notice. Food was solid. I had the spinach enchilada with sour cream sauce. The dish was good, not necessarily "out of this world good" but good. If you are in Mineola, I recommend dining here.
