The Homestyle Cafe

A classic cafe with home cooked specials and tasty side dishes. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the price was unbelievable. Everything that I love about small-town America. Will definitely be back next time I come through Oskaloosa.

It’s a little Small town diner. Exactly what you would envision. However … those Iowans are so friendly !! Obvious locals sitting at the counter said hello when we walked in. I wish I knew the name of the girl to sat us and partially waited on us. Dark hair. Tan skin. That’s all I remember. SHE WAS SO GOOD, COURTEOUS, ATTENTIVE. I haven’t seen customer service like that in years !!! Bless her. She needs a raise !! The food was diner food. Better than some. Worse than others. The bacon was perfect !!! Best diner bacon I’ve ever had. we were happy they were open and it was local. EAT LOCAL !!

I travel all over the US with Amish. It was nice to have a place open at 5am. The staff was very friendly and the food came out hot and fast. I highly recommend!

Owners Ashley and Trent Kerr have done a fabulous job 👏 food is great, prices are fair, staff is friendly.

Great little restaurant! 7 booths and 6 bar seats. Had 2 teas, hot ham and cheese, and a double cheeseburger...total bill was $29.33. Food was served fast and was very tasty! Friendly staff. Would recommend.
