We are always looking for the perfect close getaway for a special night or "stay-cation", and The Homeport Inn met and exceeded every expectation. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, the house is respectfully remodeled, and the tavern is led by a chef that will not disappoint. I spent a peaceful morning on the sun porch as the snow softly fell with the most delightful breakfast (included in the room charge). I cannot recommend this location enough. If you are local and looking for a night away, this is your place.

We stayed at the Homeport Inn and Tavern for 3 nights and we can't wait to visit again! The owners are excellent hosts. The location was the perfect getaway for us. Still within date driving distance of so many great Sea Coast towns. Everything we needed was thought of.

My friend had just picked me up at the local bus stop after a 6 hour ride. We were looking for lunch/dinner before another 1.5 hour drive to Blue Hill. Drove by. Saw the sign for meal service and decided to try it. What a GEM it is. Absolutely delicious food, veggies not overcooked, great service, charming atmosphere. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

What a unique place! The rooms in this newly remodeled 1860's victorian inn are quaint and cozy. They have really paid attention to every detail. Every room is unique and has that old world elegance and richness. There is a bar/restaurant downstairs with live music and great food and drinks. We met the innkeeper and he is so friendly and welcoming. This is not just a place to stay, it's an experience. Loved it!

We are locals and visited the Tavern recently. The empty parking lot should have clued us in but we remained optimistic. Believe me when I tell you to eat elsewhere; there are a number of better choices in the area. We were served seriously overcooked empanadas, charred (not in a good way) brussel sprouts, a lackluster Caesar salad with stale croutons and a burger that was passable but far from delicious. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. There was $5/head cover charge for the “music” which the owner apparently thinks adds to the atmosphere; we disagree. We would love to find a local pub to be our regular hangout. This, alas, is not it.
