The Happy Goat

I stopped at Happy Goat on a trip from DC and was happily surprised! The space is really nice and comfortable, and the customer service was great. I’m gluten free so don’t often get to eat at delis, but they had delicious gluten free bread and a ton of options! I ordered a turkey sandwich and thought it was delicious - it was not dry and the cheese was perfectly melted. They also gave me two smaller sandwiches to make up for the smaller gluten free bread! I highly recommend and will be returning :)

This place is awesome! We came here for a lunch date and the food was amazing! I personally got the French dip , sooo good! I highly recommend this to anyone in this area or just visiting. It’s a nice comforting , cozy spot to enjoy your food or just chat.

Drove from Richlands Va to Tazwell Va and had the best deli meal at the Happy Goat. The deli sandwiches are stacked full of fresh cut Boars Head meat. Had a hot pastrami and a ham and cheese sandwiches. I also recommend a side of chili and a side of homemade potato salad. This is a great place, very clean and welcoming. Last but not least the staff, Joe and Janetta ( hope the spelling is correct) could not have been more gracious. What an enjoyable lunch. I moved to Virginia from Upstate New York and this place reminds me of a New York deli. I will be a returning customer. Update I did return and ate again at the Happy Goat during the taste of Appalachia.

Food was very good at reasonable prices, and came out within just a few minutes of ordering. Service was excellent with a polite and friendly staff.
