Customer Reviews
This is a great restaurant to go to especially if you are going to the performing arts center across the street. It was very busy but the service was kind and thoughtful albeit a bit slow. It was the weekend as well as the Holiday season so this isn't to be held against them it was purely circumstantial. The pictures don't really do the food justice; everything was flavorful and well balanced. The mushroom ravioli was 9/10 the shrimp appetizer was 9/10 and the drinks were all 10/10.
Fun place for lunch or dinner at Albert Whitted Airport. We volunteer at the Dali museum and one of the people we work with told us about how good the food is here, they were right. Are kids were in town and we stopped in for lunch. Our daughter in law is gluten intolerant and they were happy to accommodate and were well versed in making sure she wasn't affected by cross contamination. It was a nice day and we sat out on one of the balcony's and watched the plans land and take off. I had the stuffed portobello burger with the pasta sals and it was great. The menu is pretty diverse with lots of things to pick from and they have a full bar.
Honestly, my review would really be a 4.5 if that rating existed. The atmosphere and the view are just so enjoyable - being able to see small planes takeoff and land the entire time you’re there is quite a lovely experience, if you’re into aviation like I am. The service was very attentive. We visited at 12 noon before a Florida Orchestra performance at the Mchaffey theater. Had no problem making it to our 2 PM show. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich and fries which he really enjoyed. I had breakfast. My eggs were perfect but my sausage and biscuit were a bit overdone. We will definitely be back and give them a chance to earn that fifth star! For the reasonable prices, this is definitely a place to dine!
Great place to eat. I loved being able to see the planes and the water. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice. The food was very good. Our server was welcoming and made the experience even better. (I believe his name was Douglas.) The prices are pretty good, considering the location. It was great to see a variety of people coming in. I would definitely try this place, particularly because it is walking distance from the Mahaffee and Dali museum, and it is a unique place to eat.
“The Hangar: Where You Can Eat Like a Pilot Without Ever Leaving the Ground” The Hangar is hands-down the only place in St. Pete where you can eat a full meal before takeoff, during turbulence, and after landing — all without boarding an actual plane. The Aviator Wings tried to taxi down my throat, the Hangar Hamburger came fully first-class with brie (yes, BRIE), and the Chicken & Waffles hit harder than a TSA pat-down. The breakfast menu is served all day, so you can have waffles at 8 a.m. or 8 p.m., because apparently we’re all on pilot time. The cocktail list? Dangerous. The Hangar Martini nearly convinced me to buy my own aircraft, and the Ultralight Beam made me see God… or maybe that was just the gin. Plus, the beer and wine options are longer than most flight itineraries. 5 st
