The Granary

This place has real nostalgia from my younger years so I will always have a soft spot-even though we only get to Norfolk occasionally. The people are always so nice, but the food is not what I remember and can we put a little bit of effort into the restaurant? Wet stains on the ceiling...scuffed chair rails that put snags in my sweater. It just seems dirty. Definitely, not nostalgic or cozy...rather gross.

We were in town for a bb game. At 7pm, the place was empty (should've gotten a clue from that), the furnace wasn't turned on, the food was so terrible, we hardly ate any of our food...the gravy actually tasted spoiled. The service was a non-service. We are definitely not patronizing this restaurant and will not recommend it. I give it a 1/2 ☆.

Been going there for years. Great Chicken and Chicken fried steak the Breaded Cauliflower is a great appetizer Pies are great. Its not for people that got there nose in the air its a working class type of place.

I came for lunch with my infant and didn’t have a very good experience. The pie and ice cream was really good I’ll give it that. My food however, was not. I had a hot beef ‘all American style’ and the meat was too tough and stringy I couldn’t chew it. When the waitress came over I told her “hey sorry this is maybe more my fault but im having a hard time chewing this I can’t eat it.” She asked if I wanted them to make something else and I said no thank you it’s okay, you can take the food back. She went and got my water refilled and dropped it off. She never took the food or came back to the table and she seemed avoidant. I waited for 15 minutes trying to see if I could get it discounted, I was still willing to pay for it. She also dropped the ticket off when she dropped off my food. She on

Food not as great as it used to be. Mashed potatoes were hard. Gravy tasted like it came from a can. My chicken fried steak tasted like it wasn’t done all the way. The salad is bland. I wish they bring back the shakes.
