The Governor's Bed and Breakfast

This is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you love historic homes. Beautifully restored home, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, and wonderful hosts. Bill and Debbie were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area - their tips on how to get around that area and what to see were invaluable. We would definitely stay here again - just lovely people and a lovely home.

Our visit to the GB&B was fantastic. Bill and Debbie were excellent hosts who shared their time and stories with us during breakfast. Bill prepared the breakfast during our stay at the B&B and he is an accomplished breakfast chef. His pancakes were light and fluffy along with his scrambled eggs and sausage. Both he and Debbie were a delight and made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable and without stress. We highly recommend this B&B and our hosts if you are interested in the next level over and above a hotel. We are already working on our next visit. See you again Bill and Debbie!!!

Hubby and I came here 7/8-7/10. The home was built in the 1700,s and is a historical gem. Gorgeous grounds with a beautiful, large porch which we enjoyed! Bill and Debbie are gracious hosts, available anytime! Make sure you stay for breakfast, which is included, because Bill will make you what you prefer! It was fantastic both days. ||We found Milton to be very nice and quiet compared to the beach area. A great place to stay!

Stayed here with family for 1 night in August. My first B&B and now I'm afraid Bill and Debbie set the bar too high. Absolutely immaculate. Comfortable beds. Private bathrooms in each of the 2 main guest rooms (3 total, 1 has twin beds and shares a bath with the largest room). Historical charm with updated amenities where you want them, i.e. bathrooms. The owners are on site and go out of their way to be informative. We didn't stay for the full breakfast of pancakes and sausage Bill offered, but had a delicious fresh fruit cup and coffee in the gorgeous dining room with a view of the garden. TVs in the bedrooms, fireplaces, air conditioning units worked great. Beautiful front porch. I think it's a perfect spot to stay after a day at Dogfish, right down the road. Can't say enough good thing

Every year during the spring and summer months, hordes of beachgoers descend on Delaware, and there are loads of hotels to accommodate them. The Governor’s Bed and Breakfast in Milton is definitely not like the national chain brand hotels for which the state is mostly known. It’s conveniently located downtown within walking distance of many worthwhile attractions. Previous lodgers have commented on Governor’s clean rooms, friendly staff, and amazing breakfast. The owners are great resources for those new to the area who aren’t sure what to see and do. Due to its small size, rooms book quickly, so reserve yours in advance.
