Decided to stop by The Forgotten Grain in Auburn, Kansas for lunch today. Our sandwiches were very tasty! The staff was very friendly and the bakery had more tasty treats we took home for later. We will definitely be back to this little hidden gem.
Ohh man, what can I say about this little place? It is phenomenal The food's unreal. The atmosphere is fun and entertaining. The people are very energetic at work there and very friendly i love taking my family here we own a little grocery store in eskridge.Kansas, and we understand when we see a family owned business you guys should really go in and try some of their treats. It's really good there, nobake cookies. All the way up to their muffins are so good next time you're in auburn kansas, give this little place a try. Thank you
The Forgotten Grain Bakery is a small town Kansas bakery with a daily, made from scratch lunch special. Today, the lunch special was slow-cooked beef tips over mashed potatoes, vegetable of your choice, and dinner rolls. The beef tips and the dinner roll recipes were from the owner/bakers grandmothers. This was stick to your ribs eating, like if you were going to work cattle the rest of the day. Their much lighter home-made chicken salad is very good. This was one of the occasional Saturdays they are open. Well worth a drive out to Auburn for a good meal and to support a family-owned business. They are open weekday mornings. Check social media for if they are open on a Saturday.
Had a great breakfast this morning. They had lots of options and everything was good. The cinnamon roll was fantastic with the cream cheese icing. We will have to come back for the lunch options.
Grabbed some breakfast casserole to take back to the wedding party. Each piece was huge. And delicious. It cost me more than I wanted to spend, after I bought for everyone. But the food was unique, delicious, and better than I would have found anywhere else. So in the end, I’m glad I stopped by.
