The Ethiopian Restaurant

“Flavorful” describes it. This is a very solid example of Ethiopian food (at least as served in the US — haven’t been to Ethiopia itself so no point of comparison). If you’ve been to Ethiopian before you will not be surprised by anything. The menus all seem to be pretty much the same and this is no exception. But that’s not a reason not to go. It’s damn delicious. And, for first timers like my kids, the joy of eating with your hands / injera is something not to be missed.

The injera is made with white flour versus Teff which makes it leathery and the correct representation of the culture also they use a skillet which does not do the form justice. The portions were meager and severely lacking flavor. The Kay Wot seemed to be more than a day old and they brought a cabbage dish that was just cabbage which is not a normal part of the cuisine. The Tej wine/mead was ok but such a small amount while charging $9. No one familiar with the food from this region would support what was served.

Delicious Ethiopian food, one of our favorite hidden gems in Denver. Super flavorful, hearty portion sizes, great service, overall an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out! The spicy beef stew was a particular favorite.

Amazing experience at this Ethiopian restaurant! As a vegetarian, I loved the variety of flavorful veg dishes, especially the lentils and greens. The injera was fresh and perfectly tangy. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for delicious and authentic Ethiopian food!

Holy Moly! This place is incredible and so authentic. I grew up in DC which is known as the epicenter of Ethiopian food. This place is just as good as any of the places in DC and it turns out because they used to own one that my family used to frequent. Run to this place if you want delicious food. Don’t worry about Colfax construction, there was enough parking on the side streets that it was a quick walk. Totally worth every step my wife and I took.
