The Eastman

When in Rochester, I love to come to Dessert Oasis Coffee. The Eastman is a tiny craft bar in the basement. It maybe has 30 seats, and that’s capacity-standing is not permitted. Staying at the Royal Park, this is just a short walk away. I found a seat at the bar. The space has the feel of a refuge from the hustle and bustle, dimly lit, rich and warm. Kitty was at the bar when I visited and took great care of me whilst I was there. I tried a cocktail on the menu, it was great-balanced, and interesting. I’d recommend trying something out of your comfort zone a bit, this is the place to explore. What I didn’t originally understand is “bartenders choice”. Popped into Eastman in Rochester for about an hour while waiting for our dinner reservation nearby, and it ended up being a great little find. The place is small but has a cool, intimate feel—perfect for a quick drink with friends. Service was on point and super friendly. The small plates were decent, just your standard options, but the drinks were definitely the highlight. Overall, a solid spot for a quick stop.

Tucked away like a proper secret, this speakeasy absolutely nails the vibe. The cocktails are clearly crafted by a bartender who knows their stuff and loves the craft. Service is warm and attentive without ever feeling intrusive, which makes settling in very easy. Add in the low-lit, intimate ambiance and background music, and you’ve got a spot that feels special from the first sip to the last. Easily the kind of place you’ll want to keep to yourself… but won’t be able to stop recommending. 🍸

Kitty was amazing!!!!! The rest of the crew as well, but just wow!!!! Walk in, sit at the bar, tell Kitty your taste profile and she literally creates tastefully and thoughtfully designed craft drinks. Fun. Conversion. Warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as tables in areas for private convo, or get a hair cut, or meet a Brengman sister above at Joe Bolognas!!!! Love this place!!!!! Please be sure to support your favorite local establishment for craft cocktails and good experience during the " Railed Detroit" Go look it up. And ask for last year's winner..... "The Cigar Box" craft drink.

The atmosphere of this place was ineffable. It is located under the Dessert Oasis in Rochester. The bartending staff was very efficient, but also easily held a conversation while making four drinks at a time. We had bartender Jackson, who made our drink decisions very easy as well as making two N/A cocktails that were impeccable. This is now my favorite cocktail bar close to home.
