The Duck Smith House Bed & Breakfast

Where do I begin? My husband and I planned a trip to Asheboro and decided to try out The Duck Smith House. From the first moment of contact at booking to the moment we said goodbye to our hosts and new friends Jeremy and Jessica, this was a beautifully memorable experience! The property is peaceful and in a perfect location in the tiny town of Seagrove, which is only about 15 minutes from the NC Zoo. Nearby are endless pottery shops run by various artists. The hosts are accommodating and friendly, as were the other guests there. The plentiful breakfasts were out-of-this world scrumptious, and words can't describe the comfort of the bed. The house is an old home, so expect the hear the comforting creak of floorboards beneath your feet. We stayed in the Carolina Room, which is very spacious

A very quaint inn in the heart of Seagrove, NC. Jessica and Jeremy were excellent hosts. They gave each guest a personal tour of the home and its history. They loved to answer questions about the home, the history, the surrounding areas, and, yes, where you are from. They are humble, interactive, and love to make their guests happy. I love that Jeremy joined us for breakfast, yet tended to our every need. Jessica is a fantastic chef, and breakfast will not disappoint. If you needed something, it magically appeared. When we revisit Seagrove, we will be staying at our new favorite B&B.

I hate to be negative, prefer to be positive. We stayed one night in November 2025 at the Duck Smith. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners, who are friendly. There are a lot of feral cats lounging about on the front porch. The house itself is of low overall quality and in fair physical condition. The common areas of the house are quite meager and limited. The bedroom was ok, but the bath was quite minimal and overall the place did not feel that clean. The beds were cheap in our room and extremely soft and the bed clothes were old and dated. Our room faced the highway and there was a good bit of road noise up until late in the evening. We did not stay for breakfast. We stayed in 3 b&b's on this trip in NC and this one is quite far below the standard set by most innkeepers

I'm sorry but this place is in need of some serious TLC and sprucing up. We have stayed at a lot of B&B's and this one is just not up to par. The owners are very friendly, but the place overall is just okay. Unfortunately we would not stay here again. The porch is not as clean as it could, and should be. Plants and shrubs need trimmed. House needs power washed. It's peak Fall season, how about a pumpkin or a Mum on the porch. The living room and formal dining room are both dark and dingy. Looks like the rooms are used for storage? Breakfast was okay. No freshly brewed coffee, only a Keurig machine, for 8 people!. I had to refill the water and ask for creamer. No water at the table. Our room was upstairs. It was a lovely room, but could be cleaner. Wallpaper is peeling and needs to be repl

If you're looking for the best bed and breakfast, this is it! The house is incredibly beautiful, and so clean! The owners were so friendly and welcoming. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious! If we are ever back in Seagrove, we will stay here again!
