The Doghouse Coffee

Just wanted to let others know what I wish I knew before I drove all the way here on a trip. They're dog friendly, but not really a dog cafe, like cat cafes who own cats and stuff. They also have certain flags that I don't look to support, if you also have integrity in your consumer decisions, I would take that into account. The photos of the brick building were misleading, so it was a struggle to find as well, so I'll add some photos of the actual building it's in, a beige box. Less charm, but it's fine I guess. Just wasn't what I was expecting, so I didn't stay to have a coffee, but the employee was very polite, that was the only positive part of the experience. we came here as we were headed north, and then decided it was so good that we came back on the way back home!!! I LOVE the variety and the baristas were so sweet. The stuffed bagel was also so good. Love that it’s dog friendly too (:

If you’re anywhere near Metamora, you absolutely have to stop by The Doghouse — it’s truly the heart of downtown and such a gem to have in our community. The staff are always so warm and welcoming, and the whole place just has that cozy, feel-good vibe that instantly makes your day better. And I have to give the biggest, most over-the-top shoutout to their barista Emily because her lattes are genuinely next level — like ridiculously good. Every single one I’ve had from her is a flawless 10/10: perfectly balanced, silky smooth, and made with so much care you can literally taste the difference. She doesn’t just make coffee, she crafts it, and it shows. I can’t say enough great things about this coffee shop! Not only is it dog friendly (our pups absolutely love visiting), but they proudly support Police, Firefighters, and Military — something I truly respect and appreciate. Their whole bean coffee has become a daily staple in my home; it’s consistently fresh, rich, and full of flavor. When I stop in, the baristas always craft amazing drinks with care and personality — you can tell they love what they do. It’s a warm, welcoming spot that feels like part of the community. Highly recommend to anyone who loves great coffee, good people, and a place that stands for something positive!

Food (stuffed bagels, I think they're called bagel pups?) was amazing, coffee (apple pie latte) was so good, and I love that they roast their own beans. The barista Emily was just as great as the food and drinks! So friendly, knowledgeable, and takes pride in her work and the company. I already can't wait to be back and try more seasonal drinks throughout the year!
