The DC Chi Pie

I had one of the best deep-dish pizzas of my life here, and I’m still thinking about it. I tried both the pepperoni–sausage and the veggie deep dish, and each one had its own charm—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, the ingredients tasted unbelievably fresh, and the amount of cheese was generous in the best possible way. It felt indulgent without being overwhelming, and every bite had that comforting “this is exactly what deep dish should be” feeling. It was even better than the deep-dish I had in Chicago. Delivery Review: This was so disappointing. When I had there sampler at a recent food festival I was pretty impressed so I decided to get it delivered off uber eats. Ive had pizza in chicago idk what i was expecting. Pizza was too salty. Top was burned, crust was half soggy half crisp. Breading was mad dry. Tasted like the weakest lasagna you ever had. They tried to shove this $50 pizza in a box way too small. Never get the pizza delivered man. Lady was so nice at the place too its a shame. Her workers aint doing her justice at all. DINE IN ONLY.

DELICIOUS! I have never had Chicago pizza before DC Chi Pie and I am forever changed. My friends and I were visiting from out of the area and were searching for local places to eat before our Air BNB opened and boy am I happy with our choice. The pizza was delicious and the owner is the nicest human ever. When you go ask about their origin story!

I want to give this place a good review, but the service is pretty bad if you order from an app. I think I might have originally ordered from this place a year or 2 ago. You used to be able to Uber eats it just fine, but now for whatever reason, they will accept orders on Uber eats and then cancel it last minute before it should be delivered. It is pretty messed up on their part, and then they just say they are closed on the app to justify it. Not exaggerating, I scheduled an order a week in advance for Friday 1/16/2026 at 12:30pm, they accepted the order earlier in the week, I changed it just to make it earlier so it was easier to get. If you’re from Chicago, this is about as good as it gets in DC—which is to say, pretty dang good. They even offer a gluten free deep dish pizza that is solid (which is hard to find even in Chicago). Moreover, the folks working here are very kind (Midwestern nice?). The tomato sauce is a bit too sweet, but otherwise, this rendition is faithful to its heritage and will save you the cost of a plane ticket to O’Hare.
