The Daffodale House

Grateful to be able to stop in just after sundown, having no reservation, after a weary day of travel! Scott and Kathy made us feel welcome, offering us a delicious light meal, private bath, and a clean comfortable bed. We were able to get back on the road, rested and fed, after a home-cooked breakfast. Daffodale House featured tons of displays of art and antique collections for sale. This was an unplanned, unexpected good experience. Looking forward to the next time. I recommend making a reservation, though!

Beautiful Historical bed and breakfast, and excellent restaurant. Cathy the Innkeeper is an excellent hostess and cook. Breakfast was outstanding. We were also lucky enough to enjoy dinner there which was delicious and cooked by Cathy herself. Room was cozy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

The Daffodale House was beautiful, eccentric, and fun. Scott and Kathy were so enjoyable. Scott is quite the interesting character; we never knew what would happen next with him. Kathy is an incredible cook; her chicken dinner and breakfast the next day were so delicious. We stayed in the Carousel Room which was very eclectic Victorian, although the bed was a bit firm and we had to use the bathroom down the hall. The house's location was within walking distance of downtown, several beautiful old houses in the Historic District, the Monticello Opera House, and cafes and restaurants. We loved it!

Me and my mom come to the Daffodale for thanksgiving. The owners of this place are personable, kind, and make you feel like you’re at home. My mom has been renting the cottage they have in the back for the past few years now, the house is beautiful and filled with history that you can’t find anywhere else. The thanksgiving meal that is served every year never seizes to fail my expectations and it’s all homemade which adds to the experience. This is a great place to come with kids, or your partner, or even by yourself. I’d recommend anyone to stay here and rent a room! Every room has its own unique design and it’s just the coolest underground spot in Monticello you’ll be able to find! ❤️

We stayed at The Daffodale House only 1 night in order to attend a wedding but if your schedule allows time, this is a very nice place to stay and visit historical sites in the area. Our inn hosts were very friendly and hospitable. There is also a full restaurant onsite. Our room was spacious and clean. The fridge stocked with complimentary water was an extra nice touch. The bed was very comfortable, and the homemade hot breakfast was ample and delicious! If you're an antique or art lover, you'll appreciate the numerous examples of wonderful art and antiques in this historic home. The porch and the garden/grounds are also lovely, and the location of the site is very convenient (within walking distance) to downtown.
