I had the opportunity to experience The Common House holiday menu that was a sort of "best hits" throughout the year. I didn't know what to expect as it was my first time dining here, but it blew me out of the water! From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff was super welcoming and the setting was absolutely cozy. As we went through each course, there were little surprises along the way that made the experience super fun. We didn't do the wine pairing, but I'm sure that would have elevated the meal even more (I'm just not a wine person!). The highlights had to be the Yorkshire Pudding with mushrooms, and the raviolo with goat cheese and gourd. I could tell the level of detail and craftsmanship that went into each dish. I was beyond impressed by the entire meal and the hospita
I grew up in this area and have traveled all around the world eating at upscale restaurants and phenomenal holes in the wall. We now live in DC with an abundance of Michelin star and Michelin quality restaurants. This restaurant is by far one of the best we have experienced. We decided to try their tasting menu inspired by Appalachia. As a southerner who has eaten at a number of “upscale” southern restaurants in DC, this was such a refreshing take on southern and Appalachian cuisine inspired by the land I grew up on (venison, river trout, acorns, blackberries) with hints of inspiration from Europe and Asia, rather than an overpriced take on southern classics like Mac n cheese and cornbread. Everything was expertly curated, from the chef explaining each course to the owner stopping by to ex
Tonight, I had the distinct pleasure to sample The Common House seasonal offering, Appalachian Experience. Their special River and Forest menus showcased the bounty of the land, utilizing simple wildflowers and berries then providing perfectly prepared venison, duck, trout, and acorn fed pork. Our party was absolutely enthralled by each course of the tasting. I am eager to express my admiration for Adam's gastronomic ingenuity, Luke and Landon's wine and cocktail expertise, and Erica's superb front of house management. The evening was truly extraordinary from beginning to end. Chef Adam and Sommelier Luke spending time with our group tableside to explain their food concepts and share their passion was special and a wonderful surprise. Our party of four shared a few delectable bites, all
We were visiting Anderson for a wedding this past weekend and had one night free for dinner and I’m so so glad we chose to dine at Common House. What a beautiful space, creative menu and incredible staff. The food was so creative. We met so many of the staff members, I can’t remember everyone’s names but I love when you can tell people enjoy their jobs. That’s how it felt. They were happy to have us and share their creations and we’re proud and passionate. Loved Luke (I believe) and his drink pairings with each course. The chef was so personable and Erica, one of our servers, was so fun to chat with. We loved the entire experience, thank you so much for having us!
Just, wow. I’m just waiting for the day they are recognized with a Michelin star (or two). The Chefs Table Fine Dining experience was quite literally *chefs kiss.* When we made our reservation, we immediately got a personal call asking about us, our needs, what we’re celebrating, etc. The atmosphere was moody and small, perfect for our 10 year anniversary. The 7 course meal was an explosion of flavor and the drink pairing by their sommelier was perfection. The chef came and sat down to talk to us before we started and checked in frequently. We got a hand written thank you note. My mind is blown that this is in Anderson, SC.
