The Colonial Lodge Restaurant

We had a nice dinner at the homey Colonial Lodge on 2/28/2026 after skiing in Bear Swamp State Forest. The fried perch with homemade mashed potatoes was delicious as was the cheeseburger with fries, and the prices are very reasonable, esp compared with nearby Skaneateles. Although the lodge is in a pretty rural part of the Finger Lakes it's really not that far at all from Skaneateles, Cortland and Homer. After a nice hike or ski on the excellent trails of the adjacent Bear Swamp dinner and drinks at the lodge can top off a great day trip.

Great little restaurant out in the middle of nowhere. But there a dirt Rd trail next to them called Bear Swamp. Beautiful drive bout a 30 minute drive if u just coasting

LOVED this place!!! Me and my friends were sitting from Canada, and still tell everyone about this place! Every single item on the menu is great. Owners are very sweet and friendly. Me and all my friends were pleasantly surprised and loved it!!!

Inedible food! Looked like he cleaned the grill top with the omelette served up on a plate. Took one bite and the grit of grease and carbon build up mixed in crunched like sand on my teeth. When we entered the place there was a dog food bowl at the door outside. I know now why as my food must have ended up in that when I left. Should be shut down before they kill somebody!

Phenomenal food.. perch, burgers, fried chicken, flatbread pizza etc. If you’re in the finger lakes, the lodge is a must stop. Best wishes to new owner Andy. We’ll be back soon.
