The Colonel's Inn

We stayed over the long weekend and occupied 2 bedrooms on the ground floor of the “carriage house”. We had the whole floor to ourselves! Beautifully decorated rooms w/antique furniture yet very modern and comfy mattresses and plush bedding. Handy fridge and microwave in the rooms. Remote controlled massage chair in the room. Full size shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the bathroom - no mini-plastic waste. Cherry on top: the breakfast! Wow! Beautifully setup and served directly to the rooms due to COVID. Intricate china, gorgeous cutlery, yummy French toast, yogurt drizzled w/maple syrup and fruit, buttery croissants and unfiltered local apple cider…absolute delight! Thank you, Kay, for our very comfortable and relaxing stay!

The Colonel's Inn is an 1835 vintage home, carefully maintained and restored. We stayed in "Isabella's Room", a spacious room on the second floor, with an attached screened in sunroom that faced south. A marvelous place to have an early-morning coffee, obtained from the Keurig machine in the hallway. Our room did not have a private bathroom; that was "down the hall" but, since we were the only occupants on the second floor, we had all the privacy we needed. Probably as a nod to guests who had to venture to the toilet during the night, a "chamber pot " (bedpan) was provided (I'm not sure if this was the intent or if the chamber pot was part of the decor). Anyway, the bed was super comfortable and the special made-to-order breakfast superb. It started of with a fruit cup with fresh fruit

My husband and I stayed for one night. It is situated on a residential street close to the highway but far enough away that it wasn't heard. The place is beautiful with all its original historic charm as well as modern conveniences. It was obvious that the owners take great pride in how it's been restored and preserved. They were both very welcoming upon our arrival and went to great lengths to find out what I could eat on my very restricted diet. They went above and beyond in what they presented to me for breakfast and I felt very well taken care of. The room was very comfortable, it had a ceiling fan as well as a/c, a small fridge, coffee/tea maker, fireplace, tv, rocking chair as well as a small table & chairs.. It had everything we needed for our comfortable stay.

If you enjoy centenary houses, it's the place to be. The interior was impressive. We stayed in Sarah's room which had it's own washroom ("powder room": sink & toilet). Shower is in the shared toilet room just beside it. It also has it's own private reading room with lots of windows facing the pool which was perfectly quiet to read a book at night. The host was very friendly and always made sure you had everything you need. Good 4 courses breakfast. I highly recommend if you go to Prescott.

During the summer of 2019, myself and my co-worker stayed here for about a week, and the stay was excellent! We were warmly welcomed and treated like honoured guests while staying here. While being a work trip, staying here made it feel very much like a very relaxing vacation. I highly recommend staying here. You can expect to be fed very thoughtfully and well prepared food while staying here as well!
