The Chicken Shanty

This places is amazing in many ways. Was told to hit this local spot and was not disappointed in anyway. I got chicken wings and love them. Wife and child got the strips and are not disappointed at all. If the ranch is homemade, love it if not still love it. If ever back here I will be hitting them up as I am from Canada would make a very large effort to eat here again.

I have been going here since the doors swung open for service, still missing the Cajun tots. I have been here 50-100 times and each time I get at least 3-6 meals, and each time I tip 10-20% or so as well, like people should for local businesses. Today was something else… We stopped, got three meals and drove all the way to south Medford. Go to eat and it’s burnt. We call and explain it’s not a normal level of over cooked, she acted sorry and said she’d remake. I drive all the way back at 2pm traffic to be greeted by a foul attitude and like I’m some liar. I show her what my chicken looked like and said it was too dry for me and she “explained” how coconut chicken always looks darker. (I have had it at least 20 times. Giving 3 stars because we didn’t end up getting food but it’s usually pretty good. The customer service tonight was so unfriendly we ended up leaving and going to the Jackson location, which was great. The kid here said literally 2 words to me, without ever looking up from his iPad. Someone needs to let Gen Z know that if they get a job in “customer service” it means they’ll actually have to provide service to customers.

I placed an online order via doordash for pickup. I drove there and the employee didnt say anything to me, i had to say " im picking up an order for xx" and she/they just handed it to me, no words spoken. Then she passed me my drink, and i had to ask for a straw, which she then told me was inside the stapled shut bag, and then she slammed the window shut. ok... so I tipped $3 in cash anyway, still giving the benefit of the doubt, and left back to work. i noticed how absolutely dirty/disgusting their stuff looked outside the "shack". i go to eat my lunch, and see i was given a sandwhich ( with only lettuce, cheese, and 2 chicken patties?) instead of the wrap i ordered. i tried to call the location to inform them of the mishap, and i guess shift changed happened cause the guy who answered sa

Save yourself the time, don't go here. Its understaffed, only one employee at a time works here. They only tell you that they are out of wings after you order wings, then don't know how to refund you. When the chicken finally DOES come its still raw. The chicken strips are store bought and not handmade by them. The only things good here are the lemonades. If you want to get sick from undercooked food this is the place. If you want to overpay for mediocre food when it does come cooked, this is the place. If you want the person cooking your food also handling the cash and not washing their hands because they don't have time this is the place. I feel bad for the poor employees that are stuck running it, obviously ownership does not care enough to be concerned with helping them themselves.
