The Catfish Place

I wanted catfish when I came to Orlando, and after looking at a number of locations that had pretty good reviews, I settled on the catfish place. I have to be extremely honest and say that this is not in the best of neighborhoods, but sometimes that’s where you find the best food. I ordered the three-piece catfish with hush puppies and Cajun fries. The fish was extremely Flaky /light and Fried to perfection. This restaurant came highly recommended by my brother, and I’d also heard about it through local folklore—it’s practically a legend among country restaurants. We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. I ordered the country fried steak with braised cabbage and cheese grits, while my dining partner had the fried flounder with sweet potato fries. It truly did not disappoint. The country fried steak was the best I’ve ever had, the cheese grits were out of this world, and the braised cabbage might have stolen the show. Highly recommend.

Excellent place for comfort food. Great menu, the food is awesome. We started with fried green tomatoes followed by fried snapped, cheese grits, hush puppies, fried catfish and fried flounder. The food was full of flavor; it was a truly enjoyable experience. The staff was very attentive and pleasant.

The culinary offerings are exceptional, complemented by outstanding service. However, the portion sizes are perceived as insufficient. The sampler, priced at $32, provides a minimal amount of food, potentially inadequate for a single individual. To enhance the dining experience and distinguish the establishment, an increase in serving sizes is recommended. The service, notably memorable, is a significant strength. Our server provided detailed explanations of each dish and offered personalized recommendations. This positive initial experience has solidified our intention to return. It is important to note that this establishment is positioned at a higher price point. Children's meals range from $9.99 for hotdogs to $13.99 for other options, while adult entrees also reflect a premium pricing
