The Boxcar Sweet Stop

What a cute little shop! We stopped in on Friday to celebrate Valentine’s Day early with our four sons, and it was such a great experience. Each of them found a unique treasure - a puzzle, Minecraft magnet blocks, creepy crawlies, and a fun twist on a Rubik’s cube - plus a few special candies. The woman working, who I believe is the owner, was incredibly kind and patient with four curious boys exploring the store. She brought such a warm, welcoming energy to the space. We live in Sioux Falls and don’t get to Yankton often, but this will definitely be a must-stop whenever we’re in town.

We went here for ice cream and we were disappointed. The staff helping us was difficult to communicate with. We asked if they offered milkshakes and he told us they couldn't make shakes currently because they were out of milk. We ordered some ice cream dishes and then ordered a chocolate ice cream and were told that they were out of chocolate. We ate the ice cream outside on the patio. When we went to leave they have no garbage cans outside so we used the city trash can across the street. Overall the experience wasn't great and we won't be back in the future.

Sooo delicious I’ve never tasted ice cream like this before!! I tried the Cookie Monster ice cream and it was amazing, there’s like brownie inside with cookie dough and it has the best taste and texture, the ladies are amazing we went there twice during our stay. I will always recommend this place and suggest this place to anyone!

My kids love coming to this cute shop! There is such a huge selection of toys and fun gifts! Their employees are always super friendly and we always receive great service. We are always curious to see what new ice cream flavors they have too!!

A very cute store with lots of unique gift ideas and treats for kids, and big kids too. 🙃 Ice cream was dynamite— be sure you get the waffle bowl, you won’t be disappointed. Neat old building, very clean and nice outdoor patio/deck space.
