We had a lovely experience at the Blue Door Kitchen and Inn. The property and grounds are beautiful and you can tell owners Reem Arbid and chef Andrea Pac put a lot of love into the project. We stayed in the Washington Suite and it was cozy and a great size room for 2 people. What's nice is being able to walk to dinner downstairs when the evening comes. The restaurant is fantastic with delicious food (the gnocchi is incredible!) and a great wine list. We enjoyed a Italian wine recommended by Reem and it paired well with the appetizers and mains that we ordered. Reem was a lovely host and chatted with us throughout the dinner and evening, where we headed to the bar for a nightcap after dinner. We plan on staying here when we go hiking in Shenandoah and highly recommend them for your stay.

Highly recommend! We enjoyed an amazing meal here for the second time, and the flavor profile and overall quality truly surpass the Ashby Inn in Paris, VA. The food, drinks, and desserts were all phenomenal—a memorable treat from start to finish. Just note that reservations are usually needed to get a seat on most nights. Service was excellent indoors. Some of the negative reviews seem tied to outdoor seating, and honestly, it’s understandable—staff have quite a distance to cover between the kitchen and the outdoor tables, so a little grace goes a long way. Our only suggestion would be to rotate the main entrées a bit more or perhaps introduce a weekend specialty dish. Everything is fantastic, but the variety can feel limited if you’re a frequent visitor since the entrée list is fairly s

Our Thanksgiving lunch at Blue Door Kitchen and Inn was delicious and perfect. The place already has that cozy, tucked-away charm, but today it felt even warmer. Paige took care of us, and she was fantastic. Friendly, genuine, and totally on top of things without ever rushing us. She made the whole experience feel easy. The Thanksgiving menu was delicious. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtful, like someone actually cared about what they were sending out of the kitchen. It was comforting without being heavy, which is exactly what you want in the middle of the day. The whole afternoon felt calm, relaxed, and special. If you’re looking for a spot that makes a holiday meal feel both elevated and homey, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.

The restaurant is perfect. Each item in the menu is a jewel. I usually have the fish offering and there is always a lovely sauce and something surprising. As a GF, DF person, I adore that they keep dark chocolate sorbet in the menu. The husband and wife team are warm and professional.

Compliments to the chef! I enjoyed the rockfish, perfectly cooked, seasoned and paired with delicious sides. It's worth ordering dessert also. I will suggest that management and staff might attend more courteously to every guest, even if cocktails and starters are not ordered. Worth mentioning, the branzino at Osteria Maria runs a very close race.
