The Bistro at The Grand Oaks Resort

We have dined at the bistro numerous times. As always the food was delicious. Only 1 server was working. The hostess helped out when possible. We were prepared for the service to be slow. After being seated, it took 30 minutes to be acknowledged for drinks. We then found out that there was a miscommunication about who would take care of our table. In addition to cocktails, we asked for water which we never received. The butter had melted quickly on my baked potato so the waitress asked if I would mind using the butter that came with the bread basket or if I wanted her to get me another. Finally, when the bill came, she hovered over my shoulder for the tip. I felt I couldn't take the time to give a custom tip. The lowest percentage allowed was 20% which we didn't feel she was deserving o

I read reviews and was hopeful. However I was so disappointed in everything- the service and food were sub par. Janice was our server-run if you get her. Everything was a problem for her. She was "too busy" with other tables to bother with us. Yes, she told us she had other tables to take care of. Never once came by amd cleared empty plates from the table, used drink cups and beer bottles stayed on the table. Mind you, we were an eight top so she could have gotten tipped alot. Every question to her was met with attitude and eye rolls. The food - came out cold. Ordered smothered chicken. The cheese was hardened on the plate, the bacon wasn't even warm, it looks like they took it from a pile and stuck it on top. My wedding luncheon was at the Bistro. Debby and her staff were wonderful. Even though we were a small party they took care of us as though there were 100 of us. I would highly recommend Grand Oaks any time.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was great and a wonderful view.

Great food at competitive prices. Nightly specials. Nice portion size. Well made drinks. Beautiful, relaxing setting. Wonderful service. The only improvement I suggest is to serve bread with the salad and entree. A once a month murder mystery dinner sounds fun. Plenty of room to hold any kind of special event. Looking forward to the next visit.
