The Bar - Handrolls by Seabutter (El Segundo)

Go here and be happy, the best we have had, and I highly recommend it. Our group had hand rolls and bowls. I ventured out and had a waygu hand roll, amazing. All fresh and handmade in front of you. I hope to visit again on this trip.

This place takes the sushi experience to a whole new level. The sushi is so fresh, the service is perfect and the atmosphere is great, especially if you are with friends, coworkers or even dates! Their Uni-seared scallop hand roll was my absolute favorite. The amberjack hand roll is a must go-to. Enjoy!

Got the $50 set menu, rolls were pretty small and I thought it was pretty average, nothing really stood out to be honest. Not one bite was memorable, I’d probably go with one of the cheaper set hand rolls if you want to just have a quick bite to eat

But Seabutter focuses mainly on HandRolls, which offers a unique twist. The only catch is, since you’re not sharing a single roll, it can get messy—biting into the same handroll isn’t the easiest. It was our first night there, and the bar was full—with just 15 seats, it was packed 30 minutes before closing. If you want sushi that’s equal parts vibe and flavor, The Bar – Handrolls by Seabutter is the place. My friends and I came for a girls’ night and they seamlessly seated all six of us at the bar, which made the whole experience feel fun and interactive. The service was spot-on and everything we ordered was absolutely drool-worthy. I went with the Taste of the Bar and chose hot green tea and the sunomono salad with my handrolls (spicy tuna crunch, scallop, salmon truffle, and HYE). Every bite was fresh and flavorful, and the portion was just right — enough to feel satisfied but still left me wanting to come back again.
