The Atchafalaya Restaurant | Idlewild Golf Course

We went in at about 6pm with a table of 7 on Thursday night. Quickly we got a table. Enjoyed the food - burger, catfish plates, crawfish & fish, Cesar salad w/ shrimp & one with chicken. Really nice building and very private bathroom. Ended night with white chocolate bread pudding.

I came in just after they opened on a Saturday and right behind a large group that was together. The hostess said I could sit with the party and gave me a weird look when I said I came alone and would like to sit alone. Service was great otherwise. The view of the golf course was lovely. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often. The food was reasonably priced. I got the crab stuffed fish, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Everything was just great.

We had dinner tonight at Atchafalaya at Idlewood. Our family paid $92. For cold food. My shrimp pasta was cold when brought out to us. My husband had fried fish and baked potato. Both were cold also. Even asked if his baked potato could be microwaved just to melt the butter. When you wait an hour for your food, it should be brought to you hot and ready to eat. Instead we asked for Togo boxes to get it home to warm up your self. Management did nothing about this situation. Sad…..

I really enjoyed my food during my visit here. I had the duck strips and waffle to start. The uniqueness was inviting, so I gave it a go. Simple, but pretty tasty. It came with a traditional syrup accompanied by a "sweet and sour" sauce. I followed that small gem with the "Catfish Atchafalaya", a fillet of catfish with a generous portion of crawfish etouffee and a dinner roll. The etouffee was flavorsome and included greater than was expected amount of crawfish. 👍🏻👍🏻 The one thing that was a bit off was the catfish that I had ordered "grilled". What I received was a fried catfish fillet. I honestly didn't even say anything about the mix-up to my waitress as it still looked very good. I really enjoyed my food here and staff seemed super pleasant. I'd recommend this place to other

Had the catfish poboy, not bad but there's better. Service was good, atmosphere was good. Will return to try something else.
