Customer Reviews
Nice little restaurant in downtown Springville. The hamburger steak was seasoned really good. The mashed potatoes and okra were also right on. The side salad was pretty big and came with two ranch dressings and crackers. The service was good and the price was reasonable for the portion sizes. I will go back and try other foods on the menu. Gumbo with hush puppies and the sandwiches were also good. Portion sizes are large.
My family stopped by here to eat lunch on a Saturday. There was no wait. I ordered the whole catfish platter. The catfish was the best I have had since I was a kid. The serving portions were ample. My wife got the grilled chicken salad and it was very good. My girls got a popcorn shrimp platter, chicken tenders basket, cheese steak sandwich, and chicken tenders salad. All was good. The onion rings were a little soggy like not done all the way. It is nestled in historic, downtown Springville which is lovely. I would definitely recommend eating here.
I had ate numerous times at The Ark over in Riverside so an opportunity came to try this new restaurant in Springville and compare. My meal consisted of a catfish fillet, cole slaw, fried okra, hushpuppies and tea. Fried okra and hushpuppies were very good and cole slaw was good. I was not impressed with the catfish fillet. It was not greasy and was lightly battered but it just did not have a taste. I suppose if I had ordered a large seafood meal I would have got a different impression but I was looking for a basic lunch meal. Service was good and the atmosphere was tops as it was inside one of the old historic buildings in town.
We meet a group from our church for lunch there. This was our first time there. My wife had the catfish po-boy with sweet potato fries. They were able to grill it for her rather than having it fried. She liked both. I had the hamburger steak with coleslaw and lime beans (side of the day). All of it was delicious. Although the Ark is about 30 minutes away from us, we will be back.
We went to the Ark for supper on a v ry quiet night. The server was great and had several meal suggestions. I loved the alligator bites I had! I was expecting only collard greens, so when the "seasoned greens" turned out to be collard and turnip, it was a great opportunity to try something new!
