THAO’S

This is a nice place to have a snack or meal. We visited downtown Chico and came here for a snack. A young couple runs the shop and are friendly and talkative. The Thai boat noodle and the meatballs were good. Add some hot chili oil to the noodles and it brings out the flavor. Many more items in the menu to try on our next visit.

The food is delicious and amazing. Love coming downtown to get this some hmong food. Love the papaya salad and you can make it as spicy as you want

I had the Fried Instant Noodles they were good, and had a little kick of heat to it. I am glad I added the pork belly to the dish.

This place is really cute and updated. We tried the papaya salad and sausage with sticky rice. When I first tried the Lao papaya salad— I thought it was mid. But— holy guacamole, it was so addicting! It was sour, spicy, and the umami-ness was spectacular. I prefer my papaya salad to be dank and on the sweeter side— but this was legit delicious in its own way and super refreshing for this hot summer weather! In Hmong culture, Hmong people eat a lot of chili peppers so when I ate the peppers here, it was like super spicy and well pounded (I hate when other restaurants or places barely pound the peppers and they come out whole and stuff— it’s a death trap). But the peppers here… it’s like— punch you in the face spicy good. And then it tapers off really nicely. I liked it lol 😂 it was a funny
