Customer Reviews
Thai Place Restaurant, in the Boston neighborhood of Allston, is one of many Asian options available here but, for me, this one stands out more than most. It’s a tiny but colorful slot with some very good and fairly common Thai plates. The meal I chose was Khao Kra-Pow Moo-Krob; a delightful dish of pressed crispy pork chunks stir-fried with bell peppers, string beans, and basil, in a basil sauce, served on rice. I also had it spiced up a bit. M’wah! Service was very friendly. Thai Place is a very short walk from Brighton Music Hall and not all that far from O’Brien’s Pub on Harvard Avenue, so if you happen to be going to one of those music venues this would be a very good grub option before or after the show. They are open until midnight five nights per week, but are closed on Mondays. Ve
I had ordered here before over the years and the food was pretty good. But tonight I was shocked about my curry. There was more oil than coconut milk and the flavor was off. The amount of meat and vegetable variety was also poor. Normally a panang curry is so good I have to stop myself from slurping the leftover sauce. I didn’t even finish this. Sad as this is pretty much the only late night Thai option around.
Small, pleasant Thai restaurant. Quiet during a Saturday lunch. Moo Bing (Thai grilled pork skewers) was tasty. Phad Thai was fragrant (peanuts and hint of fish sauce) but a bit too sweet. Slightly spicy. Could use a slice of Thai lime. Staff were attentive and polite.
Paid $4 extra for my entree Khao Ka-Pow Moo-Krob to be family style. Received this tiny plate and didn’t even get any rice with it. $21 for this.
“The Thai Papaya Salad and Mango Curry are my favorites! Highly recommended. The new look is amazing—I’m so glad they’re finally back!”
