Thai House - University

Had dinner at Thai House - University and it delivered exactly what a neighborhood Thai spot should. We ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken (added a sunny egg on top), Pad Thai, and the beef skewers. The basil fried rice was the standout. Great wok flavor, rice wasn’t soggy, and the egg with crispy edges tied everything together perfectly. I ordered medium spice — just right for me, although my wife felt the heat immediately. Thai medium is not American medium, so order wisely. The Pad Thai was solid and balanced — not overly sweet, good noodle texture, generous portion. The beef skewers were tender with nice char and paired well with the peanut sauce. Service was friendly, food came out hot, and portions were generous. We went to Thai House University for my aunts 75th birthday because she wanted a whole fish (red snapper). The sweet and sour sauce on it was amazing! She enjoyed every bit of it! The appetizers were delicious. All the rest of our main dishes were great. The customer service was so nice. They even brought us a cake server and plates and spoons for a cake we brought in. It was an all around wounderful experience. If you are thinking about going, just go! You will love it!

Food is fantastic. Tempura is perfect crunch and flavorful. Tom yum has a good amount of seafood and nice flavor. We got 2 order of Padkeapaw with chicken is the best. I had pork and it’s sweet. I don’t like sweet tho. Over nice experience and the place is busy really busy

We came here for a double date with friends and it was my first time visiting this establishment. We ordered 3 dishes to share and looks like I found my go-to Thai spot in Charlotte! The drunken noodles were delicious, savory and a touch of sweetness. The eggplant stir fry with pork was as good as dad makes it at home for me and he ran his own Chinese restaurant. The curry flavor was good, but the beef was kind of dry. We also ordered summer rolls that were delicious! Overall, a 8.5/10 and will come back again!

Go here for great food, lovely people, and to unwind! One of my all-time favorites - I love this place. I found this place while in college and it filled a massive need in my life - the ability to unwind. With an inauspicious exterior, one would never anticipate how peaceful and warm it is in the interior. Serene music, elegant wood carvings, friendly staff, oh and.. tasty food. I have yet to order it, but will one day order the duck dish as I fondly remember the serving staff escorting out the dish while “quacking”.. such charm. Highly recommend.
