TC's Ponderosa

This place was so good for the most part everything was perfect and we showed up and emptied house spending about 400 dollars on BBQ. We wanted to do this review justice and it was all amazing besides the Sausage in my opinion was cheap tasting and overrated. But honestly all the good things made it almost un noticeable. The corn best ive had in my life not joking. The other meats great the cornbread I would fight a kid over. I can honestly go on and on ill let the 5 stars speak for themselves. Take the drive its worthwhile.

Went when they first opened hoping for some off the smoker que. I'm not sure that is what I got. While the brisket was falling apart it was also dry at the same time. It almost seemed like day before brisket hydrated up or something. I've never had brisket like that.. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't like any of the pics previous customer had taken. I agree with others the sausage was not that great, and others in the party said pork was also dry. The sauce was flowing at the table that is for sure. The sides were good. So it was good, but it fell way short of the hype. But hey you have to try these out of the way places cause you never know. Maybe if was a bad batch of everything or maybe that's the status quo. I would not stop through again

One of the better barbecue joints I’ve been to in Texas the ran out of a lot of their sides and jalapeño cheese sausage but we were there at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon so I didn’t anticipate them having everything on the menu. Good food, quick service and friendly faces. The gentleman ahead of us in line was a local and he told us what all they had available being it was real busy. Will definitely stop here again! Great BBQ stop heading into Lubbock or leaving Lubbock. Service is friendly! On the weekends they run out of item so unless you come early be prepared. We shared a 3 meat sliced brisket, chopped brisket and smoked ham. Very generous portions and enough for two to share! They even gave us an extra plate. Make you you ask for pickles and onions if you like those items. We have the potato salad (mustard base) and baked potato salad (lots of butter) both side items were tasty!

Found this little jewel while cross country driving in Texas. If you're ever by this way you'll definitely want to stop and eat here. The food is excellent. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. Great little country cafe.
