⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend! This is hands down the best Xinjiang (Uyghur) food I’ve had recently. Finding such authentic Xinjiang cuisine in New York is truly amazing. Every dish we ordered was a hit—no misses at all. Some people mention that the food takes a while to come out, but it’s absolutely understandable because everything is made fresh. They literally butcher the chicken to order, no pre-made food at all. If you love good food, waiting 30 minutes is totally worth it. Must-order dishes: 🍗 Big Plate Chicken (Medium) The portion is HUGE—way more than enough for two people. The owner explained that since they use fresh, live chicken, it can only be cut in half, so smaller portions aren’t possible. Super generous and very authentic. 🌶 Spicy Lamb Trotters The spice level is on poin

Such authentic xinjiang food. The stir fried rice noodle and the chicken is so good. Wish I can have more rice noodles! Be prepared for a wait though. Food takes a while especially around rush hour. Big portions come hungry. Will try other things

Everything we ordered taste amazingly delicious and fresh! It was my first time trying xinjiang cuisine and I highly recommend it! The wait time for several dishes took a while but it’s definitely worth it and gave us time to finish one dish at a time !! Will definitely come back again to try other dishes :)

We went to Taste of Urumqi twice because it was that good. We particularly enjoyed sharing the big plate chicken with two of our friends and I noticed we all kept going back to a stir fried meat and vegetable dish from their “secret” menu. I am still thinking about and craving a simple but rich yogurt and nut dish we had for dessert. On our second visit it was rainy and cold so we had a hot and cozy mutton soup along with more stir fried noodles, meat, and vegetables. The noodles were chewy and perfect and addicting. The staff and owner are busy and hard working but take time to be friendly and welcoming. For my partner, who’s from Xinjiang, this was meaningful because it brought back a feeling of home. If we lived nearby, we’d be regular customers. Even if you’ve never had Xinjiang food

Very authentic and tasty Chinese restaurant focusing on the north-western taste. Best hand-tossed noodle I have ever had in the U.S. Good might take a while to be prepared but definitely work the wait. Highly recommend. Will come back soon!
