Taste of Jamaica

I was in town for work (live an hour away), so I dined in. I ordered oxtails with a side of plantains. The atmosphere and staff were genuinely warm and inviting. The food was AMAZING! The oxtails were tender, savory and moist. I enjoyed the oxtails so much that I ordered two more orders to go. One for lunch tomorrow and another for my co-worker. I also ordered the Jerk chicken plate to go.

I tried the jerk chicken dinner and a side of macaroni and cheese. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I ordered the chicken with spicy sauce but I think maybe they gave me the regular sauce, it was not spicy at all. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the rice was also good. I am very particular about macaroni and cheese. I like it creamy with a lot of cheese sauce, this tasted more like buttered macaroni noodles with shredded cheddar cheese melted on top. Not bad, just not my preference.

My daughter told me about this awesome place. I asked the young lady if they would please come to Texas! The servings are abundant, authentic, and flavorful. When we come back this spring, I will definitely be coming back!

My 2nd time here, love love love the jerk chicken tacos!!! Filling and so so good! Juice (the owner) is so easy going, real cool guy. Whenever I visit Ohio I gotta get the jerk tacos here. The new location has adequate parking and there's seating in the inside as well. The wait can be longer than expected. Depending on what your getting be prepared to wait over 15 mins, bare in mind the food is fresh!

I've never been to Jamaica before, however, if this food is any indication of what I would taste... please purchase me a ticket! The food was amazing! While you may have to wait 15-20mins, it will be absolutely worth it. In the picture - Oxtail, rice, cabbage and cabbage. So good!
