Taste of Chengdu 成都味道

All right... this place is a mix of emotions. The flavor profiles are spot on. Considering the owners are from Chengdu. A city in the Szechuan province, the main chefs are from there too. So you're getting the full flavor profile. Portion sizes..... this is where it gets tricky... and expensive. If you get the stir fried cabbage, a heaping portion comes out. Cabbage is cheap. But if you get the stir fried pea shoots, like I did, it's enough for maybe 2 people. In the picture, that's my hand over the entire plate. Twice cooked pork, crispy beef, portion sizes are small...for about 25 dollars per plate...your money isn't going far. As I said, you're just there for the flavor profiles. I am Chinese. This restaurant is rated 4.3 stars and I feel responsible to leave my review. We come here all the time if not twice a week. We have toured almost all the Chinese restaurants in Orlando that look promising on Google. Many of them have better reviews but non beat this one. This is THE BEST Chinese restaurant in Orlando. The Goat. 1. Majority of people who eat here are Chinese. Today I saw only one white person. They don’t cater to American taste. They are more on the salty / spicy side but they are authentic. 2. Love this restaurant. It is by far the best Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Orlando. The staff is always friendly and the food is always hot, fresh, and comes out quick. This restaurant's specialties are in the dishes from Sichuan province. Don't come here and order General Tso's chicken, you will be doing yourself a disservice.

Absolutely amazing food and service. I’m from China myself and this is hands down the best place in town. It’s like i’m back in my hometown again. 10/10 recommend

I dined in yesterday and ordered the House Special Dry Pot — absolutely loved the taste and presentation! The flavors were bold and authentic. I do wish it included some dry tofu inside; that would make it perfect for me. I also tried the Tangerine Pepper Fish, which was amazing — flavorful, spicy, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place if you love spicy Sichuan cuisine!
