Taste Jamaica - Restaurant

I am in and was greeted immediately. I got to pick my own seat. Sonia, the owner, welcomed me in and told me about the menu and drink options. Since it was my first time having Jamaican food, she recommended I start with Jerk Chicken and if I like it try the others next time. (There will definitely be a next time) The food was delivered quickly and looked fantastic. The chicken was good and pulled off the bone easily and the sauce it had was lovely. The rice and vegetables sides were delicious too. The seasoning for everything was great. Nothing was bland nor over spiced. I fully recommend this place if you want to try something new and explore different foods. (I am definitely coming back for that oxtail and goat curry next time)

Came to visit Sonia and Taste Jamaica today. Such a great atmosphere and extremely clean. The oxtails were amazing paired with rice and peas and some of the best cooked cabbage I’ve ever eaten. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something different in this town. It’s a must try for sure! I can’t wait to go back and try the chicken or the curry goat!

I went on Saturday so my review is a bit late, but this is most definitely some of the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had in the triad! I would have included pictures of my oxtails, but I ate it all a little too quickly. I ordered my food to go, but I wish I stayed because of how lovely the restaurant was. It is nicely decorated and they have such lovely music playing that enhances your experience there. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage, and the oxtails were unbelievably tender, and fell off the bone easily. The gravy was rich and delicious, and tasted amazing. If you go, be sure to grab a pineapple ginger or sorrel drink. Sonia is an amazing person with such a big heart and she truly cares about her food and you! I will most definitely be back.

This is the second time visiting, absolutely love the food and owner! She is so sweet and inviting and the food is just amazing, very well cooked and spiced! My husband and I have had the oxtail plate, jerk chicken plate and curry goat plate and all were delicious! Highly recommend to come give them try if you haven’t!

Such a wonderful meal. The food was absolutely delicious and the service is wonderful. The lady who runs it is SO SWEET and accommodating. She brought out a sample of oxtail for us to try and it was GREAT! It feels like your family when you eat here. Can’t wait to come back!
