A very nice Kazakh café in River North, with good latte, friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The place was packed on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in early March, but they managed to bring out my coffee order quickly. I appreciated the way in which they served the latte, in a nice mug on a little wooden board, accompanied by some sort of very light wafer roll. While I did not try any of their food this time, the sweet treats on the surrounding tables looked delicious and tempting. The eclectic interior features the insignia of a modern, upscale coffee shop paired with some industrial looks and a number of Kazakh elements like colorful rugs and an old tiled stove. Definitely a place to return to.
Amazing place with truly delicious food! The traditional Kazakh bakery is my absolute favorite, everything is fresh and full of flavor. The coffee is always great, and the atmosphere feels so cozy and welcoming. It’s one of those spots you just want to come back to again and again!!
Very cool and unique place. Chill today - end of February at 10am. People are hanging out on their laptops and plenty of seating available. Cottage cheese pancakes definitely taste like the healthiest pancakes I've ever had. Very light. Mild flavor of cottage cheese, more bready and bland. The sauce is sweet but not much. Doesn't stick around in your mouth. Coffee is solid. Will come back tomorrow for brunch to try some more of their menu.
Interesting place. Went for lunch on a friday without reservation and it was busy but we managed to get a table. Place decoration is very nice and clean. We ordered the chicken soup and the beef entree. Both were excellent. The beef was tender, great flavor, and the “bread” around it was delicious. We also had black tea and a coffee and were also good. I gave it 4 stars and not five because the beef dish arrived around 5 minutes after ordering and the soup arrived 25 minutes after (and we were not “warned”). Would go back!
It was nice to find a coffee shop that feels mom and pop in River North, among the large chains. The coffee was very good and the dough balls serving is very generous. Service was friendly and the presentation was thoughtful, My only concern is that it was FREEZING inside. Every time the door opened, it made it even colder. We would have stayed longer and spent more money but we were uncomfortable.
