Tarr House Bed & Breakfast

My wife surprised me with a terrific birthday weekend in St. Michael's. This excellent B&B is well located near the shops and restaurants of town, and you can see the waterfront from the front steps. The dining room and sitting room downstairs are both beautifully decorated and pleasant. We stayed in the Edward Elliott room and it's gorgeous and immaculately clean. It looks like it might be challenging for taller people (I'm 6'4) but it's not. The room is cozy and comfortable without being too tight. We would love to come back!

We stayed here on a trip to St. Michaels Maryland and it was a perfect choice. It is small - only 2 rooms. But both are beautifully decorated and the bed was soooo comfortable. The original house dates back to the 1600's and is charming. Bonnie is a superb innkeeper. The full breakfasts were delicious in a charming dining room and Bonnie is so helpful with local information and places to go. The Tarr House is near the water and the marina by a small park in St. Michaels. It is the perfect place to have your morning coffee or just watch the sunset on a park bench. The location makes it possible to easily walk to everything. We loved every minute of our visit in such a delightful place.

My wife and I stayed at the Tarr house for our 25th wedding anniversary at the beginning of December. The location is near the main street making all destinations for shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Parking was conveniently located directly across the street and it was free. Bonnie, the Innkeeper/Owner was delightful on the phone when we made the reservations. Her daughter, Laura met us in the evening and escorted us to our room which was a large room on the second floor. The bed was large and comfortable. Downstairs had a sitting room to read and lounge in but our bedroom was large enough and furnished well enough that we did not take advantage of the sitting room. My wife and I were in St. Michaels in early November and spent one night at the Tarr House Bed and Breakfast. It is on a quiet street a just a few steps from town and the bay. It is priced well, and the breakfast was very good. Our upstairs room was small and there was no TV. My only negative comment was the bathroom. It was very small, and the toilet is tucked under the A-frame ceiling. If you are a guy, this just doesn't work. The tub is a cute claw-foot cast iron type, but it's only about four feet long, so if you are average size guy, this doesn't work either. There is no shower. Although clean and cute, our stay at the Tarr a House was just not very comfortable for me.

The Tarr House is a short five minute walk from Higgins marina. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It’s very close to two waterfront restaurants. ||Bonnie is such a gracious hostess. She gave me a cup of coffee before breakfast to take across the street to the park overlooking the water. ❤️||My husband, who isn’t a B&B kind of person, even loved it. It is charming, very clean, comfortable and very beautifully decorated.
