Taqueria molcajete

What I my friends/family/neighbors know as “favorite restaurant”. My go to in the neighborhood. Idk where they get their chorizo but it’s some of the best I’ve ever had—so delicious/nutty/salty Isabel + his staff are the sweetest. Hospitable + kind + they have the best Mexican food I’ve managed to find in NYC after 7 years of living here !! So lucky to have it so close to my house Awesome Mexican breakfast + dinner. Been coming to this restaurant for many years , this is the place where you can find authentic Mexican cuisine the owner is an amazing person who’s been part of the Ridgewood community for quite some time, if you new to our neighborhood I will 100% recommend to visit this place and have a delicious experience full of flavor and an amazing service. This place offers many varieties of vegetarian dishes I personally recommend the mushroom quesadilla, veggie/ cheese enchiladas and the green chilaquiles after a party night are just the perfect cure for your problems, horchata is the boom they also serve beer, sodas and various drinks. Always happy to help our little business people.

Just LOVE this place. Even the beans are incredible, and the Mole is delicious. Part Mercado, part restaurant, a bustling take out and delivery business, but a great place to hang out and eat and enjoy the music.

Worth every dollar and then some. Superb customer service. They are very authentic and the amount of food provided is way more worth than they charge. Their Horchata taste as expected, nothing about it is packaged made (powered milk etc). Go and give this family owned business a shot you'd definitely be wanting food at least once a week from there.

Molcajete Taqueria has really friendly service, which made our visit enjoyable. My mom and I had the bistec ranchera and a cemita. The bistec was fine, but the rice and frijoles were basically inedible. The cemita wasn’t traditional & I know New York spots rarely taste like Mexico, but the menu said it included papalo, and it didn’t, so it ended up more like a plain sandwich. The flavor was pretty bland, even with the chipotle sauce. On the plus side, the agua de Jamaica was really refreshing. Overall, it’s a nice spot for the vibe and staff, but the food needs a lot of improvement to feel worth it.
