Tamarack Cafe

What a cozy find right on Hwy 95! Immediately before one turns to the city of Potlatch, this little cafe is a necessary stop! I pulled in and opened the doors to a quaint spot which was serving breakfast at the time I arrived. There were so many options of baked goods from which to choose (which was why I stopped), and I took a few “day old” scones and coffee cake! They didn’t taste stale, but rather tasted like they were made that day! Looked like a bunch of “regulars” were dining, but the service was great and I loved the Bible verse written on the refrigerator door. Please stop by this establishment, even if it’s for a loaf of bread or a baked good! You won’t regret it!

Anyone that travels past Potlatch, I challenge you to stop here. Food is always great. Even the day old treats are amazing. Pies are amazing. Today we had French toast. I will get them again. Try the homemade syrup. Different and great.

Expect all the bread products you order made by these friendly, gentle folks, and your breakfast to be just right to start your day. We had a long drive pulling a trailer, so we did not order a lot, but what we did order was pretty filling. My breakfast sandwich was hearty, with generous slices of pit ham and delicious sharp cheddar cheese. We love camping in this area, so it is no doubt we will be coming back to try their lunches...

Fantastic!!!! Loved this place and will be back. I had a simple breakfast with house-made sourdough, jam and sausage. The hash browns were excellent too. The staff was very kind and the coffee was great!

They have recently started doing a take & bake lasagna and I got one today and had it for supper and it was excellent. I will buy more. Their breakfast of pancakes, eggs and meat choice was also very good.their cinnamon bread makes the best French toast. Our favorite for lunch is the Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
