As somebody who lived in OKC, and broke as ever, moving back to my hometown, I find that it is still incredible that my utility bill over there was way cheaper than here...... They will literally pull as much money as possible out of your pocket, and then shut off your power with no warning, and no convenient heads up, or any email telling you their auto-payments have been updated. My fiancé and I got our power shut off randomly with no warning and no heads up, and it really just puts a bad taste in your mouth talking to their customer service, it feels like they genuinely don't care about you.....
Absolutely terrible water service. They will shut off your water if your bill is past due without even calling or emailing you?? Then they charge you money to reconnect even if you pay promptly after they shut off your water. You would think that in 2025 a service like this would have automated phone calls to tell you your bill is overdue or automated emails but I guess whoever runs this company has never heard of such an advanced technology. It is soooooooooooo easy to set up an automated call system or just send automated emails to people as soon as they are past due. Called customer service and they told me there was no way they could call everyone on their cut off list……..you don’t have to do that there are easy ways to have voice recordings do that for you?? Then they told me that the
This is a horrendously mismanaged company. Their customer service is terrible and their hours are ridiculous. Anytime there's an outage after hours they do nothing to help get the power back on until the next day. There is an after hours emergency number but anytime you call it they tell you they can't turn the power back on after normal work hours. On top of that their new online invoicing system doesn't even work. It sends out inaccurate invoices constantly and claims to offer "auto pay" but it doesn't even work half the time. And anytime you call TPWA and ask about any of these mistakes, they claim it's not their fault and it has to do with a third party company called Invoice Cloud that handles their online invoicing. Well if that's really the case why do they use them? They'll even
I've had the displeasure of being forced to deal with this company for the last several years while going to school here. Since you're probably in my same shoes and will have to do the same, I'll give you some tips on what to watch out for: 1. They charge a $400 deposit just to open an account and get power for your apartment/trailer/house. Yes, you read that correctly. Four hundred smack-a-roonies. So (especially to all my grad students out there), be prepared to pay that when you move out here. 2. These people do not have the common sense to implement some kind of automated/pre-recorded message to inform their customers of when they COMPLETELY CHANGE THEIR BILLING SYSTEM. Therefore, if you are an autopay customer, they are content with not telling you in any way that you missed your pay
For the first time in 28 years, I was charged a late fee. It was my understanding that customers who had Xpress Bill Pay in the past would have to take no action for their bill to be automatically paid. I paid my bill, online after the TPWA office called to let me know that my bill was late because I did not "redo" my online account, which is still active. I asked that the late fee be waived since I am a customer who has always paid in a timely manner and was told there were no exceptions. When I asked, for the third time, to speak with a supervisor; I was given a first name only. So, under protest, I paid the bill today, online. I am not happy with this situation and I am not the only one. That said, this is the only time I have had problems with TPWA in my 28 years of being a customer
