I’ve been to 2 famous Ethiopian restaurants, and both were quite greasy and heavy for me, so I was surprised that Tadu's dishes are not like that at all. The food is super fresh, with on-point, balanced seasoning. The sambusa is really tasty with an addictive dipping sauce. The smaller vegetarian with injera is filling and good to share between 2. Highly recommend trying their spice teas, coffee, and especially Telba (ground flaxseed and honey drink). The owner is really kind to offer me an injera refill without extra charge. Definitely come back next time!

Excellent Ethiopian food! I have dined here several times over the years and it is always very tasty. Glad they reopened here at this location. I hope to come back again soon. I had the beef tibs.

We loved the food so much that we came two days in a row! The Beef Berbere Banatu, Derek Tibs, Special Kitfo, and all the sides were absolutely incredible. The service was excellent, and the owner, Elias, was the best host. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Stumbled upon Tadu Ethiopian Kitchen while exploring San Francisco and decided to give Ethiopian food a try for the first time — and I’m glad I did! I went with the Meat Combination plate, featuring minchet abish, gomen besiga, and lamb alicha wot. Each dish had its own unique flavor, and the injera brought everything together beautifully. The spices were well-balanced — flavorful without being too spicy — and the textures were satisfying. It was a totally new experience for me.

Humble and modest restaurant offering Ethiopian food. It was my first time tasting Ethiopian food so don't have any yardstick to measure the quality on this one. I found the food to be delicious. It's a unique and meticulous melange of spices and meat. They got reasonably wide variety of vegetarian food.
