Tad's on the Rock

I had the western burger it was delicious, my husband had the pork tenderloin it too was very good. The patio is very nice with lots of tables and umbrellas. The inside of the bar needs a few things fixed (ceiling tiles with water damaged) but otherwise was very clean. Our waitress was terrific. She came back to our table many times making sure everything was good and removing empty glasses, bottles and plates.

Decent food but pretty expensive for what you get. Nice view overlooking the river but the Friday fish fry was overcooked pretty bad, the cod and walleye. You could tell it would have been good if cooked properly, but mine was chewy and the wife's was so overcooked that she had to discard all the burned spots. Ironically, even if the fish was perfect, we wouldn't order it again because it was $17.00 for 3 small pieces of cod and one larger piece of walleye. Fries are included though, unlike other sandwiches which only come with chips where there is a $2 upgrade fee for fries. No coleslaw included with the fish dinner. They need a little better signage to lead you to the entrance. The parking was plentiful, free, and convenient. When we walked in, we were greeted by a row of regulars sitting at the bar. They were very friendly but we definitely felt like outsiders. It was a fantastic place to watch football on a Sunday afternoon because they had 3 different games going. There was a beautiful fireplace but it was not going and had stuff in front of it. We had the misfortune of choosing a table in direct line of the door to the back deck and were blasted with cold air when people would go in or out that door. They had several soups to choose from the day we were there it was chicken and dumplings, chili or beef stew. The menu is varied having tacos, pizza and typical bar food. After a few visits for lunch, Tad's has become a favorite, and one of the few spots still open for lunch all week. Be sure to try their incredible pizza options, while enjoying the view from inside or on the outdoor patio overlooking the Rock River. The fun and cozy ambiance is complemented by great service, with staff like Jennifer ensuring a good meal and a laugh. The food, beer & cocktails are reasonable priced, too. Service is good fast. The bartender was very nice and helpful when it comes to our ordering food we got lunch. Service is great. People are great. I’ll be back for sure.
