Tacos El Juanito #2

I always have a hard time deciding between the shrimp tack or bean & cheese burrito - they are so delicious and the salsa is amazing. Sometimes I get it for take away when I'm having a party - it's that good. If you like texmex you will not be disappointed here.

Love this little local spot for some solid tacos. This place has some good quality meats and everything is seasoned really well. I got four tacos with chicken, Asada, and al pastor, and a torta de asada. Great torta. Was not expecting it to have melted cheese but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely coming back for a quick lunch or dinner.

This is the best Mexican food. I’ve had in over 20 years. I grew up in San Diego right by the border of Tijuana and it doesn’t get more authentic than this place. I will definitely be back. This is a hidden gem. If you haven’t tried it yet, you are missing out. Best California burrito, hands-down. The consume for the Beria was authentic and done the right way. The queso Beria quesadilla was as good as I remember when I was a kid. I’ve been searching for a place like this for a very long time and I am sure glad I found it. I can’t wait to come back. Best tasting Mexican food in the area from someone who ate mexican street food in east la for more then 8 years. Im glad this place is less then 10 min away from me.

For a quick post-workout dinner, I stopped by Tacos el Juanito at 9pm. Predictably, I could make my order immediately at the counter. I got 5 tacos ($2.45 each cash / $2.55 each credit card). The tacos came with the usual diced onion and cilantro garnish, with lime wedges and radish slices on the side. The cashier also asked if I wanted grilled onions and peppers (of course). The tacos seemed generously topped with meat for their size. The tortilla shells seemed soft, fluffy, and warm. The meats themselves seemed acceptable. The asada, while crispy, felt dry and lacked the desired smokiness. The other meats also seemed subdued in flavor. The green salsa also seemed too light on flavor.
