Customer Reviews
I recently stopped by this Cuban food truck and it completely exceeded my expectations. The food tasted incredibly authentic and full of flavor. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and a side of plantains, and both were outstanding. The sandwich had perfectly pressed bread, tender pork, melty cheese, and just the right balance of mustard and pickles. The plantains were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—exactly how they should be. What really stood out was the freshness and quality of the ingredients. You can tell the food is made with care, not just thrown together like at some food trucks. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable for the quality you get.
wow this was bad. like really bad. the lechon sandwich was awful, tasted like rubber. the croquettes were sawdust. this place is not a representation of cuban food, avoid at all costs. nevermind the people that work there have 0 customer service.
That awkward moment when you're standing at the window and the person inside is counting money and doesn't bother to acknowledge you, not a "I'll be right with you" or a "enseguida lo atiendo." Then you start leaving (being the only ones there) and walk past the window and there's not a "gracias por visitar, que tengan buen dia" or anything, just awkward silence. The menu is very Cuban indeed, but the taste wasn't there. The tamal was decent, but the masitas de cerdo were dry and did not taste great. They had no white rice, so eating ropa vieja with yellow rice was different; it neither tasted great nor played nice with the stomach later. We drove down from Killeen to try it out and regretted both the trip and the tip.
Maybe some of the best Cuban food in the city is being made and served in the middle of this night by a lone women who doesn't speak English in a food truck outside of a strip club. I could not make this up. The Cuban sandwich is legit, the ropa vieja is bomb, and I've never heard of Cuban tamales, but OMG are they good. Just go.
Your first impression may be that the prices seem high, but the quality, taste, and portion size will prove you wrong. Highly recommend.
