We read some mixed reviews/ health report. But tried our luck anyways. Found parking on the side of the building but I've been told a lot of people have to park at UPS and get their parking validated which seems like a hassle. Coming from another state and not being familiar I wouldn't want to have to do that. We were seated immediately and ordered scallion pancakes and crab rangoons to start. I had the general tso's for entree and my wife had a dry pot that sat over a flame. Everything was fantastic! Even down to the bathroom being super clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good Asian food in Rochester.
We’ve gotten takeout plenty of times, but this was our first time going in person. I should have taken more pictures because the decor is lovely. Staff was incredibly attentive and kind. And of course the food is great! We got soup dumplings, chicken and broccoli (garlic sauce), and kung pao chicken. All were delicious. I need to explore more of the menu!
I’ve been craving the dan dan noodles I had in Chengdu (Szechuan Province), and these noodles taste pretty dang close. They hit the spot, especially with that classic mouth-numbing Szechuan peppercorn flavor. I would’ve just added a bit more meat and crushed peanuts for crunch. BUT, delicious! Didn’t realize the sizzling shrimp dish would be breaded shrimp, but it was super good—she asked if we wanted hot or mild, suggesting that hot would be too hot, so we asked for medium spicy. It was definitely spicy enough so yeah, hot would’ve been too hot. It comes with either white or fried rice. We got green tea too. We got a duck dish on another visit and it was good but very very salty. The spicy popcorn chicken (La Zi Ji) is REALLY good, crispy and flavorful, slightly spicy and garlicky. The
I have enjoyed many meals in Chengdu China over the years and I can say these guys know how to make Szechuan food! The Chongqing chicken was spot on and so was the beef pepper pot. Will be back.
We come to this place whenever we are in Rochester, NY. The Szechuan cuisine is authentic and delicious. However, be warned that the spicy dishes can get very spicy. For those like us who have little tolerance for spicy food, ask for mild. The service staff was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to all.
