Overall Rating and is it worth a visit: 8.75/10 and Yes. This was the second time we came here, following a nice morning hike with the dogs. They can be found right between Bear Creek Road and Bear Creek itself, with Switchback being a cozy little spot with indoor and outdoor picnic table seating, and a full bar available. As one of the only places serving up smoked duck as an option, I would recommend this place to anyone driving by, but would also say it's worth making the short trip from Denver for a destination visit as well. I went looking for a place I had previously eaten at only to find they had gone out of business. So I ended up going to a new place I hadn't tried yet called Switchback BBQ in Evergreen and I have to RAVE about this place because it was fantastic. I had the fries, deli sliced brisket and the ribs and EVERYTHING was delicious!! The service was great and the restaurant was clean. When I pulled up and parked and got out, it smelled fantastic too. The ribs and brisket had a slight amount of spicy kick but not too much. The Pitmaster knows exactly what he's doing. That's a place I will be going back to again!

We love this place. Great, quality food. The best fried pickles I’ve ever had and every cut of meat we try is phenomenal. The staff is super sweet. Definitely a must go spot :)

Been eating at the Switchback since Darryl opened up the joint. The food has remained consistently very good. The Rooster Booster is one of my favorite sandwiches from any restaurant. My daughter constantly requests the mac&cheese. The ambience provides solid Bear Creek vibes. Get there early as they tend to sell out of stuff.

Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. My dog Cooper and I were greeted by Chef Scotty- tremendous guy & incredibly welcoming. I had a devils elbow with mule sauce- so many different layers of flavor in this sandwich & sauce. I’d drive from Chicago just for this sandwich. I got the spare ribs to go, and needless to say- just fantastic. Super dog friendly on the patio & the views of the river are spectacular.
